In 1991 researchers and developers of the Sulzer Ltd. initiated the project «HEXIS» (Heat Exchanger Integrated Stack). Based on this business idea Sulzer Hexis Ltd. was founded in 1997 as a venture division of the group. Over the years development engineers and materials scientists have made great strides in the fields of material development, process control and system integration. Hexis ranks among the leading companies for stationary applications in small power range worldwide. Since January 2006 the company is independent and trades under the name of Hexis Ltd. The activities are continued with a new investor in form of a foundation.
